My Wizard101 Events Will Continue

Hello Wizards,

Yesterday, I acted quickly yesterday due to something that hit me on a personal level. I was up last night thinking about my future and what I'm going to do from now on. I will continue having events.. but I think all of you need to read this before I do.

What I'm Going To Do

Stand Up Against Bullying: I will continue to stand up against bullying that I see here in the community. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If you say I'm making a big deal out of it, to me its more than just a big deal. I'll continue to stand up for what's right with our without community leaders.

This means I'm going to do my best to continue making everyone feel welcome here in the community. I'll be honest, I've never seen anything like what I saw last night. There are hundreds of other witnesses to this horrible bullying as well, but they don't deserve the attention they get if they use it to hurt others.

Standing up against bullying is more than just an opinion. I think everyone should do the same thing I'm doing. Just because you feel peaceful doesn't mean others in the community do. You know who's received more anger? I have and many others doing the same thing - because they're tired of hearing it. Nobody has stood up against them, but they stand up against me for being such an anti-bullying advocate. That's really sad. But, I remember that what we're doing is for a good cause.

I wish it was easy enough to just be quiet and hope bullying will go away, but that's not possible. We all have to take a stand against all forms of bullying so everyone knows that it's not accepted in the Wizard101 community. There's nothing funny about bullying. Don't tell those who stand up against it they're in the wrong because they makes you look like you support what they're doing is the right thing - when we know it's not.

I was disappointed in the community yesterday. The reason I love this community so much is because it's different than any other community out there. We've been here for years as Kingsisle's most dedicated players. We've also made many great friends here through Kingsisle's games. I do appreciate your support, but I need you to show me support by standing up for what's right. If you attend my events and believe with your heart that namecalling, slandering, death threats and more are okay, you're in the wrong. Please wake up and make a stand with me against all of this.

Don't get upset with me when you know what I'm doing is right. Please, look at what people have said compared to what I've said. Compare and Contrast. I'm not perfect, but what I'm doing is the right thing and everyone knows it. You can compare it to drama and say I'm starting things, but that doesn't matter. I, along with many others, are standing up against bullying that DOES exist in this community. If your back is turned and you don't see it, that's not my fault. I wouldn't spend as much time making these posts, recordings and more if this didn't actually occur. I invite everyone, including community leaders, to take a stand against this bullying.

Continue Having Events: I really do appreciate all of the support that you all have shown me over the past 7 years. Times do get tough in the community, but this time they made me want to quit something that does actually bring the community together and away from hate.

These events have always been about welcoming everyone in the community to feel welcome to make new friends and interact with old friends. Some have made it look like that's not what it's about but we know that it's only about that. I love having these events with our awesome cohosts to bring everyone together.

I have been upset because of recent sayings and hatefulness. I have spoken against it, and it seems to not be the popular opinion. I don't care, though. I've been about the community for years and will continue doing so. I've nearly played Wizard101 for eight years. I've seen a lot of friends come and go while being here. I want to stay as long as I can to help you make new friends and maybe bring back wizards who haven't played in awhile.

We're doing a great job keeping the community together, but I do need to also focus on keeping myself together. I'm only human. But as I said above, I'll continue having these events for you but also taking my stand against this bullying. Nobody here should convince you that this should continue because it shouldn't. Popularity doesn't matter. Don't fall into the trap of bullying just because someone gets views.

These events are special. I know many would be disappointed if I quit them and I feel there's a reason I should be here, so I will continue having them because I want to for you. I need everyone to understand that I don't reget posting my thoughts yesterday because I'm tired of everyone saying bullying does not exist until I bring it up. It's an ongoing problem here in the community, in other communities and offline. I'll be the first to say it...

Namecalling is not funny, it is bullying.

Slandering is not funny, it is bullying.

Death Threats are not funny, they are bullying.

Any other Threat is not funny, they are bullying.

All of those did occur yesterday. You may not see it, but does that mean they don't occur? Does that mean I'm bad for calling it out? No. I'm not bad for standing up against that. God Forbid you got bullied and had all of that. Would you want someone to stand up and let you know that they care about you and not to worry that people are here for you? Yes. So until many here learn that, I will not stop talking. I will not back down and say, well, I'm the only one that matters. People are annoyed so I will stop talking and let bullying continue. That's not who I am.

Why Do I Continue Standing Up - Tweeting, Posts, and Recordings

I had a chance years ago to talk to someone. I knew I should have because I saw they were upset. Instead.. I joined in on the crowd, not but namecalling or slandering. Instead I thought this person was weird. That was one of the worst mistakes I've made in my lifetime. I was in class and when they walked out I had a feeling I should have said something to them - like someone was telling me to get up and go talk to them. I didn't. I was like the "crowd" and didn't do anything.

I'm not going to go into detail but it didn't end well. I found out on a Monday after a weekend break that this person would not be coming back.. I could have done something to help out. Instead, I stood by and joined the crowd in their "I'm Better Than Everyone Else" attitude. I will NOT make that mistake again. I will not stand by and watch the same thing happen again.

This is personal to me. I was going to record telling you this, but it makes me so sad. The next time you think I'm just trying to start "drama" you need to realize it's much more than that to me. I will not stand by and let this continue. So with OR without your help, I am going to stand up and talk. I will let everyone here know that they're welcome to attend any of my events and I'm not going to let it happen when I see it.

It is difficult to be quiet because I was quiet before and it didn't end well. I want all of the community to know I'm going to continue standing up for what's right no matter how long I'm here. We may be in a video game community but we're all still human being the computer screen. We're going to stand up for all of you, even those who have namecalled, slandered or more. I stand up for what's good and right. I will continue doing so.

It's not funny laughing about people. It's not funny to think it's okay to hurt others because you have a large fanbase. With or Without help, I'm going to continue standing up for what's right. I believe doing so is positive. Negativity is letting those who want all positive things to end, end. I was negative yesterday, but I had a few great friends tell me that they appreciate these events. Without them, it would be difficult to have them.

I know I'm ranting, but this is the reason I stand up against this when I see it. I will continue to do so, but I don't like ranting on Twitter. It really upsets me.. and sometimes makes me feel sick.. when I see others tell me that I'm wrong for doing so. I am not sitting down and letting someone go. I'm going to stand up and be friends with everyone here. I want everyone to know that I ACCEPT YOU. I ACCEPT THE GOOD THINGS YOU DO. I welcome you in this community and though others may not, I'm glad to have all of you here. This is coming from someone that's been here long enough to see what acceptance is.

I hope you all do read this over again to know that this bullying needs to stop now. Sure, we have disagreements but does that make it okay that people are bullying? Does it make it okay that those who stand up against it and have for many years are put in the category of drama starters? The answer to those two questions are : No. Simply no.

This is not to give good attention to those who bully. This is to grab their attention to come to the realization that what's occurring is not right. I'm so glad I have the support from the community that I do because my Online Safety and Anti-Bullying posts have had tens of thousands of views. That's a message getting across to many! This post also will. I'm doing what's right... And I will never stop. I'll do the same if it wasn't in a game community. STAND UP WITH ME. Stand up against this bullying and let those know it's not right. Once you do, we'll make a truly POSITIVE impact. One that no other gaming community has ever seen.
